Our Mixed Red Macroalgae Sampler highlights the deep burgundies, scarlets, magentas, and rose-toned hues found along Florida’s coasts. We harvest roughly twenty species of red macroalgae throughout the year, and the selection in each sampler shifts with tides, seasons, and natural growth cycles.
Reds bring striking contrast, dynamic texture, and nutrient balance to saltwater aquariums and refugiums. Some species grow as branching bushes, others as flat blades, ribbons, fans, or pom-poms. Each pack feels like a curated snapshot of the reef. Because availability changes constantly, every order is unique.
What You’ll Receive

- Species are chosen from ~20 reds we collect annually; availability varies naturally by season and weather conditions.
- Portions typically consist of 3-5 specimens roughly equaling 1 pint combined volume.

Note from the Collectors
Every macroalga we offer is hand-collected, acclimated, and observed by our team before shipping. While we carefully try to remove other algae, sponges, and tiny hitchhikers, it’s possible that a few “goodies” from the reef may tag along. It’s a natural part of receiving genuine wild-collected specimens!
Many species may arrive paler or whitish in color. This is completely normal. Macroalgae shift their pigments inward during transport to protect from light and stress; color returns within a few days under good aquarium lighting and flow.

We ship via 2-Day service on Mondays and Tuesdays only to ensure specimens arrive healthy. You’ll receive a notification with tracking information as soon as your order ships. Seasonal changes and weather conditions may influence which species appear in each sampler.
