Ceriths are one of our favorite snails thanks to their hardiness, simple care needs, and incredible cleaning ability. They handle the jobs other snails tend to ignore. They graze detritus, uneaten food, fish waste, diatoms, and film algae with ease. Ceriths also burrow through the sand, which helps oxygenate the substrate and keep your tank fresher. We often see them tuck into the sand right along the glass, making them perfect for cleaning that stubborn algae line at the sand bed. When they arrive, give them up to 24 hours to open up and get moving.
