Mixed Caleurpa Sampler

Description

Our Caulerpa Sampler showcases a rotating mix of fast-growing, nutrient-hungry green macroalgae collected from Florida’s coastal waters. Caulerpa species are some of the most efficient natural exporters of nitrates and phosphates, making them ideal for refugiums and nutrient control. Their beauty also makes them excellent for planted marine aquariums!

We collect several species throughout the year. Some grow in elegant blade-like runners, others form feathered fronds, and some spread as branching clusters or bead-like chains. The mix varies seasonally based on availability and natural growth cycles, ensuring every sampler reflects the healthiest specimens with the living rhythm of the Gulf and Atlantic.

What You’ll Receive

  • A curated mix of three or more Caulerpa species, selected for health, vigor, and structure at packing time.
  • Common species include: Caulerpa prolifera, C. mexicana, C. setularoides, C. racemosa, and others depending on the season.
  • Each sampler contains roughly 1 pint of combined Caulerpa, though density and morphology vary by species.

Traits

Excellent nutrient exporter Fast-growing Great for refugiums Varied shapes & textures Seasonal diversity
Care Notes
Caulerpa naturally grows quickly and should be trimmed regularly to prevent overgrowth. Some species may enter a reproductive “sporulation” phase if nutrients become depleted. Regular pruning and stable water parameters help prevent overgrowth and tank "nuking". Provide moderate to strong lighting and steady water flow for best color and resilience.
Note from the Collectors
Every macroalga we offer is hand-collected, acclimated, and observed by our team before shipping. While we carefully try to remove other algae, sponges, and tiny hitchhikers, it’s possible that a few “goodies” from the reef may tag along. It’s a natural part of receiving genuine wild-collected specimens!

Many species may arrive paler or whitish in color. This is completely normal. Macroalgae shift their pigments inward during transport to protect from light and stress; color returns within a few days under good aquarium lighting and flow.
Shipping & Availability
We ship via 2-Day service on Mondays and Tuesdays only to ensure specimens arrive healthy. You’ll receive a notification with tracking information as soon as your order ships. Seasonal changes mean the species in each sampler may vary from week to week.
